Sickening week…

Sickening week…

This week definitely didn’t go as I expected. Everything was normal until Wednesday morning, when I suddenly started feeling sore, exhausted, and unusually tired. I tried to survive until my fifth period until I eventually couldn’t take it anymore and went down the clinic to check my temperature, and it had reached 38.9°C. That was the moment I realized I wasn’t just feeling tired—I was actually sick. The rest of the day was spent lying in bed, drinking plenty of water, and hoping the fever would go away, and the medicine of course.

By Thursday, I felt much better. My temperature had returned to normal, and I thought I had recovered. I even started planning everything I needed to catch up on after missing a day. Looking back, I probably became a little too confident because I assumed the illness had already passed.

Unfortunately, Friday proved me wrong. I woke up feeling normal, yet until the third period, my whole body started to get hotter and sore, and the fever had returned. This time I tried to stay up until lunch, but then I knew things weren’t going great so I ran to the clinic again, as I expected, my body temperature is higher than 38 degrees again. My mom received the news and quickly brought me to the hospital this time, and the doctor said that I have to do blood test and abdominal ultrasound, and even a flu test (the one like covid test). Luckily I didn’t get any problem with my intestine, but I’ve got gastrointestinal infection, that’s why my stomach has been rumbling non-stop.

Getting sick twice in the same week was frustrating because I felt like I had already gotten over it. Instead of studying or hanging out with friends, I spent most of my time resting and trying to recover. It reminded me that feeling better for one day doesn’t always mean your body has fully healed. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is slow down and give yourself enough time to recover completely.

I’m still hoping to feel like myself again soon. For now, I’ll keep resting, staying hydrated, and letting my body do its job. Hopefully, next week will be much healthier than this one.
